O2 and MAF Sensors
There are multiple causes for a Check Engine Light to come on in Porsche vehicles. The most widespread one for the 6 cylinder engines is failure in the O2 (Oxygen) and MAF (Mass Air Flow) systems. Usually the front O2 sensors will fail and cause the MAF to attempt to compensate. Many mechanics just replace the front O2 sensors. Within a few hundred miles the light is back on and this is caused by the MAF failing.
